The 2008 Final Four was a first, as we saw all four #1 seeds make it to the end. Usually, you can expect some upsets and a surprise team or two to be around. It wasn’t the case last year, though, as everyone who was supposed to win, did win. When making Final Four picks, there are some important issues to keep in mind.
If you want to win with your Final Four picks or March Madness Picks, then you have to understand the teams, first and foremost. The Final Four is played over the course of three days, meaning that the winners of the semifinal games will only have one day of rest to get ready for the biggest game of their lives. With this in mind, you might consider betting on teams that are difficult to prepare for. Georgetown, for instance, runs a Princeton-style offense that many teams do not encounter over the course of the season. With only one day to prepare, teams might not be able to adjust to the different style. Likewise, you will want to make Final Four picks keeping stamina in mind. Deep teams do well in tournament play, so don’t forget about the often forgotten bench players when making your selections.
If you can manage to take all of these things into account, then you stand a great shot of being successful. It’s difficult to gauge the Final Four most years, but those people who put in the most research often come up with the best Final Four picks.
