Although at first glance the Super Bowl seemed to be no contest with the Pittsburgh Steelers defense smothering Kurt Warner and his high powered offense, but that may not be the case.

Of course when Super Bowl weekend approaches every year the media is like a pack of starving wild dogs looking for some meat, well, besides Hines Ward's controversial monster hits during the regular season and Anquan Boldin's spat on the sideline with the offensive coordinator in the NFC championship game the media has found no dirt on either of these teams.

With no real story lines this time around and just two great teams going at it, the Super Bowl will be less of a show and more of just another football game between these two NFL heavyweights.

The spread, as of right now, is only -6.5 in favor of the Steelers. You ask me that could be a blessing in disguise.

Logically the Steelers will win the game and will probably do it on the defensive side of the football. Stopping Kurt Warner this post season has been no easy task, but if any defense were to contain him it is the Steelers lead by James Harrison and Troy Polamalu.

The safe bet in my opinion is taking the Cardinals. With an offense like theirs and a quarterback who doesn't get rattled are panic in a blitzing situation Arizona might be able to do the impossible and get the best of the Steel Curtain like defense of Pittsburgh.

Guys we will be here all year long offering advice on all major sports...

Here are my first picks to start off the season

The only pick I have today in the NBA is the over like Rover in the Bucks/Nets game. Niether of them care one bit about defense. Both should have enough fire power on " O " to get the game to go over.

Take the Bucks/Nets Over 201

Guys

We have one NBA pick to day. Phoenix is toast. They can't defend anyone and now they are old. The Spurs have dimantled them all series. Take the Spurs as a  dog in a close out game .

Spurs + 4

One NBA pick

Guys how much longer can Boston lose on the road ? This team is to good and Ray Allan sooner or later has to get it going. I think they get the road win tomorrow. This number is off because of the recent road troubles.

I will take the road dog here.

Boston + 2.5

Could it be a 80's preview? Bird vs Magic ?

The NBA finals could be best they have been in years. LA vs Boston ... which team will win ?

Here is what I think : LA has just way to much quickness and speed for Boston to keep up plus they have no one that can Kobe. I think  the Lakers win in 6.

Let me know what you thing.

Luiz Felipe Scolari, the new Chelsea manager has spoken out about the saga concerning Real Madrid, Man Utd and Ronaldo. Scolari says that Manchester United will not be able to stop Cristiano Ronaldo from joining Real Madrid if that is the decision he chooses to take. Scolari, who's contract recently ended as Portugal coach, knows Ronaldo well through their time spent together with the Portuguese national team. He insists that as Real Madrid want Ronaldo that his time spent with Manchester United could soon draw to a close.

Ronaldo has also admitted in the past that it would be his dream to play for Real Madrid. All of this points to an uncertainty regarding his contract with Man Utd.

Sir Alex Ferguson however, manager of Manchester United insists that Ronaldo is not for sale and that they are not interested in listening to offers for the winger. Scolari though, says that if Ronaldo chooses that he would like to play for Real, it will be a done deal and there is nothing that Man Utd can do to stop him.

Scolari said, & Ronaldo is a very mentally strong person. All of this speculation surrounding his future does nothing to hurt him, in fact it makes him stronger. He has confided in me that it is his dream to play for Real Madrid and I am sure that is what he will do. I feel sure that Cristiano will not be playing for Manchester United next season." Wherever Ronaldo is next season it will only be good for the game of football, Ronaldo is an amazing player and makes live football  an exciting spectacle to watch.

It's finally time for the real season to start and I've got all the locks! First, the Dallas/Cleveland game. Both teams are loaded on offense, and though I don't normally like to take this high of an over, I think this one easily makes it. Over 49 won't be a  problem in this one. Next, we go to Miami where the Phins host the Brett Favre led Jets. The spread is Jets by 3. Unfortuatley for Miami fans, this spread isn't high enough. The Jets will cover this one easily, but take heart Dolphin backers, Bill Parcells will have them in the playoffs in 2009. And for my final lock of the week we head out to San Diego, where the Chargers battle the Panthers. I know Carolina is supposed to be improved, but they won't show it this week. San Diego is favored by 9, but will win by twice that amount. Take it to the bank: over 49 for Dallas/Cleveland, the Jets -3 in Miami, and San Diego(-9) to win big at home. Enjoy spending your winnings!
